Sevilla - Real Madrid Betting: Back a low scoring win for Rafa Benitez's men at the Sanchez Pizjuan

Sevilla - Real Madrid Betting: Back a low scoring win for Rafa Benitez's men at the Sanchez Pizjuan

Los Blancos have been in solid if unspectacular form in recent weeks, and that should see them record a victory in Andalusia but there's also value in backing against goals

For Real Madrid and Barcelona there are only a handful of fixtures which will be highlighted at the start of the season as matches where they could potentially drop points.

A visit to the Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan certainly falls into that category, and while Los Blancos have generally a strong record in the Andalusian capital they will be all too aware of the challenge that faces them.

That challenge could be a little less fervent than in recent seasons given Sevilla's topsy-turvy start to the current campaign, with Unai Emery's men proving to be pretty unpredictable; they are the only side in the division to have lost to Las Palmas but they have also beaten Barcelona.

The sides come into Sunday's clash after differing results in the Champions League midweek, with Madrid earning a win over PSG which qualified them for the last 16, while Sevilla lost against Manchester City to leave them all but mathematically out of the competition.
Nevertheless, there should be a special atmosphere at the Sanchez Pizjuan for a game which sold out days ago, with these two sides sharing a healthy mutual dislike which has created a pretty strong rivalry.
bet365 who as ever are streaming the game live for UK based customers price a home win at 13/5 (3.60)while Madrid are offered at a tempting looking 9/10 (1.90) and the draw can be backed at 3/1 (4.00).
Recent history suggests that this will be a high scoring game with eight of the last nine meetings producing over 2.5 goals, a selection which can be backed at just 4/9 (1.44)
The history books also show us that Sevilla are the favourite victim of Cristiano Ronaldo with the Portuguese forward netting 21 times (19 in La Liga and two in the UEFA Super Cup) against the Andalusians and Madrid's number seven can be backed at 8/13 (1.63) to score once more.
Ronaldo has not been at his best in recent weeks though, and Madrid continue to be without some key players. Sevilla too will be missing some big names with the likely absence on striker Kevin Gameiro a crucial blow.

Thiago Silva convinced Ronaldo will join PSG

Thiago Silva convinced Ronaldo will join PSG

The Brazilian defender says he would welcome the signing of the Portuguese attacker and believes he would settle into the team well as he already speaks French

Thiago Silva says he believes Cristiano Ronaldo will join Paris Saint-Germain in the near future.
The Real Madrid talisman has long been linked with a move to the super-rich Ligue 1 side as he continues to have a strained relationship with his own side's fans.
Ronaldo added fuel to the speculation by whispering something in the ear of PSG coach Laurent Blanc after their Champions League meeting on Tuesday.
And Thiago Silva feels a move is imminent and says the Portuguese attacker would settle in well in the French capital as he already speaks the language.
"I do not know [if Ronaldo will sign] but it's fun playing with such major players," he told RMC. "Ronaldo is the best player in the world. If the club wants him, of course the PSG squad would be happy.

"He is a very good player, technically essential for all teams in the world and especially for PSG, who have a big dream to win the Champions League with great players.
"I think Ronaldo will come. I do not know what happened with Blanc after the game because he did not say but I hope [there were positive talks between the two].
"He speaks French very well, perhaps better than me, and if it happens next year he will have no difficulty speaking with the media."

Gosto deles", completou.

Benítez: “We have to impose our playing style on Sevilla”

Rueda de prensa de Rafa Benítez

NEWS | 07/11/2015

“We know it won't be an easy game and we'll require the utmost concentration to avoid making any mistakes”, he added.

Rafa Benítez spoke to the press about Sunday's upcoming encounter (8:30pm CET) against Sevilla in the Sánchez Pizjuán: “It's a tough ground to go to, the home supporters really get behind their team. Sevilla are a side with a spectacular record over recent years, although they've always been one of the big teams. It's always a tricky stadium to go to and they're always a tough team to play against. We know it won't be an easy game and that we'll need to be extremely focused”.

“We need to impose our playing style during the match but even then it will be a difficult challenge. We'll be required to play with the utmost concentration to avoid making any mistakes. Sevilla have a great manager, great fans and a great team. They have quality, physicality... They're a very hard team to play against and just need to rediscover their form of the last few years. I'm hoping they don't managed to that in this match. It'll be a tough game because in every department Sevilla are a top level side”.

Bale

“We still have to finalise the final squad for this game, but Gareth will be included. If he's made it into the squad that means there's a chance he'll play, but we still have to see for how long”.

Benzema

“He's in the final stages of his recovery. We've decided to leave him here so he can get back to 100% fitness. He's in good spirits, but he won't be travelling to Seville. On a personal level, the club sent out a statement that we all agree with and there's not much else to say about the matter. He returned the other day, trained, did his work for that day and that's all I'm going to say. Karim has our full support”.

“He still needs a bit of time to get back to full fitness. We don't want to take any risks. Everyone who works with Karim knows what he's like and all his team-mates and the club are fully behind him. The most sensible thing to do now is wait to see what the findings are”.

Keylor

“We're not taking any chances with him. We knew he had a muscle strain and that's still the case, so we don't want to risk it and make things worse. I have total faith in Kiko and we'd rather not take any chances”.

Cristiano

“The team seem happy to me and have been training excellently. Cristiano is scoring for fun and looks happy to me. He scored three goals in training today. I read that his agent said he's happy and that he'll finish his career here. If he's as happy and effective as he showed today then I'm at ease. I hope he's here for years to come and continues scoring hatfuls of goals”.

James

“He's a fantastic player, I like the eagerness he has to play and take part. As a manager I have a responsibility. He's been out injured for 55 days and I'm delighted that he's itching to play again. He's an important player for us, not just for two or three games but for the whole season”.

BALE IS IN THE SQUAD.

“I've already made a comment about the matter with the Colombian national team. With the rules as they are, if he's called up then he has to go. I hope he scores 5 goals in each game. What really matters to me though is that he comes back healthy. He's in the squad and there's a chance he'll play”.

Last match before the Clásico

“The biggest concern I have right now is preparing the team for the Sevilla clash. I'm not making any plans about the Clásico just yet. My only thoughts are on ensuring that we're in the best possible shape to play in a difficult ground”.

What Cristiano said to Blanc

(Benítez whispers something in the press officer's ear) “What did I say to him? If no one knows, then I've made my point”

The president's conversation with Cristiano

“You're all aware of the president's relationship with Cristiano and of Cristiano's level of professionalism. That aside, I remember us winning that game. We're through to the last 16 and there's no need to keep going over what was said”.

Cristiano's future

“Do you think you're going to have a job in a year's time? You can't know that. None of us can be certain about what will happen in the future. Cristiano is happy and training to score loads of goals. Sevilla's stadium is a happy hunting ground for him. I hope he continues scoring lots of goals and winning titles for us for many years to come”.

Cristiano Ronaldo sings along to Rihanna’s hit ‘Stay’ on plane

Cristiano Ronaldo sings along to Rihannas hit Stay on plane (Video)

This is a pretty cool teaser from Cristiano Ronaldo’s biopic movie, which hits cinemas next week.
The Real Madrid man is in high spirits, presumably after a Portugal win, as he sings along to Rihanna’s hit ‘Stay’ on a plane during international duty
Ronaldo manages to stay in sync with the ballad, although he struggles a little with the high notes.
He gets a round of applause for his efforts from his teammates, although Pepe didn’t even seem to be listening!

Benitez: Impossible to guarantee Ronaldo will be at Madrid next season

Benitez: Impossible to guarantee Ronaldo will be at Madrid next season

Rafael Benitez has admitted that he cannot guarantee Cristiano Ronaldo will stay at Real Madrid next season.

The three-time Ballon d'Or winner has been at the Santiago Bernabe since 2009, but a complicated relationship with the fans and president Florentino Perez has seen him linked with a return to Manchester United as well as a move to Paris Saint-Germain in recent seasons.

The Portuguese star added fuel to the speculation surrounding his future on Tuesday as he whispered something into the ear of PSG coach Laurent Blanc after his side's 1-0 Champions League win over the French side.

Benitez admits there is uncertainty surrounding his side's talisman, but maintains he is happy at the club.

"You want my opinion about what Ronaldo whispered to Blanc?" the Spaniard asked journalists at a news conference before turning to his press officer and whispering in his ear.

"Do you know what I just said to him? No? Well then, you already have my answer.
"You all know the relationship between the president and the player, and you know how professional Ronaldo is.

"Can I assure you that Ronaldo will remain here next year? Could you assure that you will have a job next year? It's impossible. And that's the same for everybody.

"I have seen a happy team that has trained well, and a happy, goalscoring Cristiano Ronaldo."
